Sneak Peak.

I'm working on a book.

Meet Libitina.
This is one of the initial inked drawings ready to take to the screen. I'm planning on doing all of the illustrations via two-color screenprints. If time permits, there may be some vandercook action with hand-set type, and maybe some lino-cut prints for patterned end pages. And then, hand-binding! Woo!

I'm having a hard time putting this stuff down to work on my other projects.

Plenty of updates are sure to follow.

Matty Pritchard Makes Movies...

This upcoming weekend is the Ann Arbor Film Festival. My friend Matt makes amazing experimental films. Put two and two together. Viola!

Matt's film, Absolute, will be showing on Sunday in the main theater along with several other "Made By Michigan" works.

And yes, that's me.

And oh yeah....

This piece managed to miss out on getting posted.
Its from the BLANK Show.
"Without SHOWERCURTAINS life would be incomplete."

And then there's this one from a few weeks back in studio.

I've been playing around with my vantage point of the figures in my paintings. The past couple of paintings I've done have incorporated full figures, smaller, and more dependent on their environment. I'm not really comfortable with these types of compositions yet, but then again, comfort zones can be deadly.

New(er) Work.

More of my commentary on free will and determinism.
But the Dennett text is getting thick.
I think this may be my last piece out of it for a while.

Sometimes you find gold in the dollar book bin

The following images are from "The Girl And The Goatherd Or This And That And Thus And So", written and illustrated by Evaline Ness. Its stuff like this that motivates to me write and illustrate my own books as well.

Which, I should be blogging about my own bookmaking endeavor shortly.
